A young man riding a bike who escorted the hearse on his last journey was among
those grieving the death of business magnate Ratan Tata, who died on Wednesday
night at the age of 86. Shantanu Naidu was Tata's loyal assistant and one of
his closest aides. Despite being younger than Tata by far, the two had a
special bond.
When the news of Ratan
Tata's demise broke, Shantanu shared a heartfelt note dedicated to their
friendship. “The hole that this friendship has now left with me, I will spend

The two
met over 10 years ago in 2014, when Shantanu began working with the Tata Group.

Shantanu, a sixth generation Tata employee, started creating glow-in-the-dark
