Ratan Tata, Former Chairman Of Tata Group, Passes Away At 86  




Senior Mumbai Police authorities were notified of the death of prominent industrialist Ratan Tata following media reports, and Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai may soon see more security as a precaution. There are rumours that Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, would visit the hospital late at night.


On Wednesday, Ratan Tata, the well-known Indian billionaire who led the Tata Group from 1991 to 2012, passed away.

 He was eighty-six years old. Born in Bombay (now Mumbai) on December 28, 1937, Tata attended Cornell University to earn his degree in architecture in 1962 before enrolling in Harvard Business School. 

Tata began working for the Tata Group in 1961, taking over as chairman from his uncle J.R.D. Tata.Ratan Tata oversaw the transformation of the Tata Group into one of India's biggest corporations by expanding its business and purchasing foreign companies.
